This new regional position created, as a key member of the ECA regional legal team, is based in the Michelin Europe Central and Central Asia HQ  in Bucharest, Romania, where our colleagues deliver excellence in Marketing and Sales, Quality, Cartography, IS/IT, Communication, Personnel, Finance, Service to Customer, Legal and Purchasing.

ECA region stands for Europe Central & Central Asia and is composed of 30 countries and jurisdictions. Our legal team counts 14 in-house lawyers based in 4 countries (Romania, Poland, Hungary and Serbia). We also manage a network of external lawyers in all the 30 countries of our region.

What we’re looking for:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role (paralegal/legal executive assistant in a law firm/of the general counsel of the company) within a demanding environment;

  • Proactive and meticulous, you appreciate the diversity of missions and the variety of topics addressed. Your versatility, curiosity, and adaptability will be highly valued.

  • You enjoy being at the center of the team’s activities and have good interpersonal skills; you are responsive, well-organized, autonomous, with excellent relational skills, a sense of service, prioritization, and excellent drafting abilities. You know how to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility;

  • Excellent command of the Office suite (Excel, Word, PPT, especially);

  • Good written and oral English proficiency (Any other knowledge of foreign languages is an advantage).

  • Bachelor's degree in Law would be a significant plus.

The Paralegal responsibilities:

General support for lawyers: legal and team administration tasks:

  • Responsible for level 1 validation of legal questions answered by a document model validated by a lawyer, a process, or training, posed by one of the internal partners;

  • Assist in updating, translating trainings and other materials, support the team on various projects (research information, prepare and update presentations, centralize documents), etc;

  • Coordinate translations: requesting, validating costs, cost centers, following deadlines  and translating short documents;

  • Collect signatures;

  • Schedule & assisting meetings with notary;

  • Issue a Purchase Request and validate invoices;

  • Issue a request concerning court fees and other costs related to court representation by attorney at law;

  • Guide internal partner on toolbox or access to samples of contracts/trainings;

  • Guide internal partner what are the required information in the specific case/question to prepare for the meeting with a lawyer.

External lawyers relations:

  • Relations with technical teams on site-related matters: compile and follow up on necessary documentation with relevant internal partners, in connection with the lawyer or law firm handling the case;

  • Confirming invoices with internal lawyers, confirming cost centers;

  • Create a data base of ECA lawyers (with contact info, areas, domains, costs);

  • Obtaining letters with the status of litigations for internal audit ;

Digital platforms and software:

  • Create engaging and professional presentation using dedicated software;

  • Organize and coordinate the Teams channel of the Legal Department;

  • Manage document flows/data security: create, manage, update, and monitor databases, especially digital ones, and their content. Secure data and ensure confidentiality, guarantee procedure traceability, ensure filing and archiving in compliance with company rules and regulations;

GDPR:

  • Maintain Data Processing Records: Ensure that records of data processing activities are up-to-date and accurate;

  • Handle Data Subject Access Requests: Assist in responding to requests from individuals to access, correct, or delete their personal data. Ensure responses are timely and comply with GDPR requirements;

  • Maintain Incident Records: Keep detailed records of data breaches and incidents, including actions taken.
