The Michelin Corporate Foundation, part of the Michelin Group, is investing in the local communities in which Michelin operates.
The program for developing the dual learning system has started at Zalău in 2018, at the Mihai Viteazul Technological High School and in 2019 at Campina, in partnership with the Energy Technological High School
In the past three years, over 70 children have benefited from the dual learning programs developed by Michelin, both in Zalău, and in Câmpina.

In Zalău, The Michelin Corporate Foundation supports dual learning, in order to better respond to the needs of the labour market in Sălaj county. The project, which was launched in 2018, is carried out within the Mihai Viteazul Technological High School.
The students have at their disposal, at all times, the necessary equipment for training as hydraulic and pneumatic equipment mechanics and as electrical mechanics for industrial machineries and installations. Various equipment was brought, such as: a mill, a compressor, metal cabinets, a drilling machine, two pneumatic pistols, a screwing machine, a laptop and a video projector, etc.
All the students have the opportunity to practice both in the newly equipped and fixed up workshop, but also within the Michelin factory. Every pupil receives a monthly scholarship and is provided with lunch during the internships.
The support project for a technical and professional training in the Sălaj county was initiated with the support of the French Embassy in Romania and the French Institute in Romania – Bucharest. 21 partners are involved in this project. Partners, alongside the Zalău Council, have also been the Sălaj County Council and the Sălaj County School Inspectorate.
We are thrilled to look at the first generation of pupils who have graduated from the dual learning cycle carried out by Michelin in partnership with the “Mihai Viteazul” Technological High School. The 15 graduates are prepared both at theoretical, and at practical level for the professions of mechanic or electrical mechanic and can start their career path straight from Michelin. In September 2021 we are setting out with a new generation of pupils and have 20 places available.
Meeting the needs of the Câmpina community, The Michelin Corporate Foundation invests in the development of specific skills for the profession of electrician and, starting with the 2021-2022 school year, that of electrical mechanic.
The partnership targets both adapting the school curriculum to this profession, and also equipping the workshop from the Câmpina Energy Technological High School with technical equipment, and allows pupils to put into practice, both in the workshop, but also within the Michelin factory, the theoretical knowledge gained in school.
The project developed between 2019 – 2021 has allowed to equip the workshop with technical equipment, among which there are layouts, simulators and workbenches, electrical wiring teaching systems, electronic components’ kits, tool kits and measuring devices.
Every year 10 students were selected to enter this program sustained by Michelin. The dual learning project developed together with the Câmpina Energy Technological High School is in full development. In September 2021 we shall have 10 places available for the 8th-grade graduates for the professional qualification of electrical mechanics. The benefits of the dual learning program are countless, both for the graduates who start their journey by acquiring a professional qualification which is recognized at national level, and also for the local employers who are in continuous search for new employees specialized in different fields. Michelin’s involvement in the dual learning project represents one of the means by which we propose to contribute to the social development of the community in which the Victoria Factory has evolved during the past 80 years.
Remus Dragomir, Service Personnel Manager Michelin Victoria Plant in FloreștiMichelin, together with three other companies from Prahova, started the first project in dual education, choosing as beneficiary of the program the Technological Energy High School in Câmpina, ninth grade, with the specialization Low Voltage Electricity.
On October 24, 2019, the second generation of dual education students from the Mihai Viteazul Technological High School, from Zalău, visited the tire factory.
Michelin, together with other companies, supports this year also the dual education programs in Zalău and Câmpina, for the training of future employees for its plants. Students can apply for dual education classes between June 29th and July 3rd.
In the 2020-2021 school year, Michelin supports 20 students in Zalău (10 in the electromechanical qualification of industrial equipment and installations and 10 in the mechanical qualification of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment), and 10 students in Câmpina, specializing in low voltage electricity.
Michelin, together with three other companies from Prahova County and with the support of the Technological Energy High School in Campina, launched this year a class dedicated to training students in the dual education system, specializing in Low Voltage Electricity.
